Senior eCommerce Analyst

About the Position
DonorsChoose.org seeks a highly talented, self-directed Senior eCommerce Analyst to help meet aggressive goals for donation revenue growth. This critical member of the Marketing & Development Team will analyze and interpret data and synthesize information from a variety of online sources, translating the findings into recommendations for effective and actionable marketing plans. S/he will deliver recommendations to the senior management team and assist in campaign execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Instrument, measure, analyze and report on online marketing programs, website user behavior, and website traffic.
  • Use query and analysis tools to define and track key performance metrics related to business performance, identify failure points or opportunities for improvement, and provide insights into key business and customer activities on the website.
  • Identify and recommend changes to improve website conversion based on analysis. This will include creating and managing multivariate or a/b/c tests that drive fundamental improvements to the site experience and working with business owners to implement change.
  • Manage Search Engine Marketing and Optimization
  • Develop and maintain holistic dashboards by pulling data from multiple sources for presentations to senior management team.
  • Work with the technology team to identify gaps in the data capture strategy and collaboratively implement enhancements.
    Troubleshoot instrumentation and reporting issues and anomalies.
  • Consolidate and validate data from multiple sources.

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 4 years experience in quantitative analysis of marketing programs or website performance. Proven results in increasing ROI of campaigns and initiatives.
  • Experience with search engine marketing, email campaigns and other direct marketing, partner and affiliate marketing programs, and/or other forms of online advertising.
  • Strong analytical background, demonstrating an ability to collect data, analyze trends, find opportunities, draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Experience with web tracking analysis via tools such as Google Analytics, WebTrends, HBX, Index Tools, Omniture, DoubleClick, or similar tools for web usage traffic pattern analysis required.
  • Detail orientation, personal organization and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Math, Statistics, Computer Information Systems or related field preferred.

Online Applications Manager

About the Position
DonorsChoose.org seeks an Online Applications Manager to help the organization exploit enterprise marketing applications, including Customer Relationship Management systems (Salesforce.com), email marketing software (Exact Target), and survey software (ClickTools).

A successful candidate has a solid understanding of these or similar marketing technologies, and possesses the ability to configure robust applications to meet business objectives. (Engineering background is not necessary). The DonorsChoose.org work environment is informal, fast-paced, and fun.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Salesforce.com: Responsible for ongoing refinements and configuration of this application, including developing reports, establishing protocols, and mapping relationships between fields.
  • Launch Email Marketing Campaigns: Execute campaigns in Exact Target, including test-and-learn campaigns using dynamic email content. Monitor data quality. Run analytics. Oversee the system for users to subscribe/unsubscribe. Identify improvements and draft functional specifications for enhancements.
  • Execute Donor Survey: Execute segmented surveys via Salesforce and Clicktools.
  • Manage ad hoc projects to enhance the website experience: Identify improvements to website experience and draft functional specifications. Facilitate communication with developers to ensure that requirements are translated to design specifications. Provide follow-through to production deployment. Conduct user acceptance testing for new features.
  • Help the Marketing & Development team to plan email marketing and other campaign strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience with CRM software, email marketing applications, and/or interactive survey applications
  • Superb self-management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with little supervision
  • Project management and excellent organizational skills are critical, including attention to detail, ability to handle multiple priorities and manage tight timelines
  • Passion for the DonorsChoose.org mission
  • Ability to think through a new process or technology solution, in order to assess dependencies, risks and implications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An eagerness to learn and have fun!
