Thirty-five rising high school juniors are participating in the Bay Area CORO Exploring Leadership program this summer, taking part in internships, skill building workshops and community service projects. In July, CORO holds its Philanthropy Day, bringing together Bay Area nonprofits, businesses and foundations to engage and practice networking skills with the students. As an added bonus to this program, these bright young minds are given a grant and the opportunity to select classroom projects on DonorsChoose.org, present the merits of their chosen projects and debate which projects should receive funding. Among those projects that received funding are Isn’t Issac Newton a Cookie? and Readers are Leaders! Thanks so much to the CORO students who brought these projects to life!
