Two exciting opportunities helped publicize DonorsChoose.org in Indianapolis last week. First, local CBS affiliate WISH-TV ran a story featuring how DonorsChoose.org has affected local Indianapolis Public School (IPS) classrooms. Complete with interviews with a teacher, principal, the superintendent, and DonorsChoose.org staff, the report highlighted how members of the local community can become citizen philanthropists and how teachers can get resources for their classroom. The third-grade students were thrilled to be on TV and were equally excited to receive their science materials and books from DonorsChoose.org.In addition to the great media coverage, DonorsChoose.org kicked off a new partnership with the IPS Education Foundation, allocating $15,000 in challenge funding to half-fund projects posted by teachers in the district. Teachers have already responded strongly to the incentive, which was publicized to over 4,000 teachers and staff in IPS. Check out the challenge page and fund a classroom project!
