The dark days of February are the perfect time to plan out how you’ll spend your summer months. If you’ve been thinking about working some computer science professional development into your summer schedule, our friends at Infosys Foundation USA have an awesome opportunity for you.The Pathfinders Summer Institute is a weeklong computer science bootcamp, with courses for teachers at all grade levels and across multiple subjects. Want to integrate CS into your art curriculum? Teach your elementary students to build machines out of paper? Add making into your teaching practice? Pathfinders has it, and over a dozen other courses. The program runs from July 15-20, 2018, in Bloomington, Indiana.
Even better: You can create a DonorsChoose.org project to fund the cost, and Infosys Foundation USA will match every donation. (Travel and accommodations are included in the total cost.)Excited yet? Take a look at the extensive list of courses on the Pathfinders website, then visit our help center to find out how to apply to Pathfinders before creating your DonorsChoose.org project. We also have advice to make your PD project especially compelling to donors, to help increase your chance of getting the project funded.Next August, when your kids ask what you did on your summer break, you’ll be able to tell them you hung out with a group of superstar teachers, learned something new from the experts, and became a computer science wizard. Best. Summer. Ever.
