First 5 LA is committed to ensuring that children in Los Angeles County, age birth to five, are healthy, happy and ready to learn. For the third year in a row, First 5 LA has partnered with DonorsChoose.org through a Double Your Impact campaign to support Pre-K and Transitional-Kindergarten teachers in Los Angeles County, California. 50% of the cost of eligible projects will be funded through First 5 LA’s campaign as long as other donors provide the remainder.
So far this school year, First 5 LA has donated over $37,000 to qualifying projects. In a classroom for students who are hard of hearing, the support of First 5 LA has meant pretend phones and kitchen items to inspire students to use their voices.
