Herb Kohl Philanthropies gives Wisconsin teachers a Valentine’s treat
What’s better than a box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day? How about a box of brand new resources delivered to your classroom!
This past Valentine’s Day, Herb Kohl Philanthropies, founded by Wisconsin senator and education advocate Herb Kohl, wanted to give Wisconsin teachers some extra love. The foundation flash-funded every project from teachers in Wisconsin on the site, bringing the best Valentine’s surprise to 749 classrooms across the state.

Jordan Education Foundation responds to teachers’ immediate needs
Local education foundations are exceptional partners in helping teachers within their community get all the funding support they need. Jordan Education Foundation, which supports the 54,000 students attending the 57 schools in Jordan School District, Utah, wanted to answer teachers’ requests for the precise resources they need, so that Jordan students could thrive throughout the 2018–19 school year.
The Foundation directly funded more than 670 projects from teachers, reaching more than half of every school in the district!

Dallas Fort Worth & Colorado Springs Mystery Friend surprised teachers with sustained support
Not all partners want their name in lights! This year, teachers from Dallas-Fort Worth and Colorado Springs got a special surprise from a secret admirer. This mystery friend flash funded every project from both these reasons, and followed that funding up with a donation match offer, so that teachers could fill their classrooms with everything students need to learn year-round. By teaming up with the public, this donor brought more than 1,500 projects to life, helping 182,000 students succeed.

The students were so excited to receive them that they were running to the front office to bring them back to the classroom and open them! Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga amplified community giving
The Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga rallies the generous people of Chattanooga to give back to their community, expanding local access to housing, healthcare, and exceptional education. To channel local donations to the places Chattanooga teachers need it most, CFGC launched a match offer on projects from teachers within the county. This match offer combined the power of Chattanooga generosity with the national DonorsChoose network of education supporters, helping thousands of students across the community get the resources they need.
