Share:

Ms. Bailey-Sulak of Crespo Elementary School in Houston, TX understands the impact of music in the classroom – especially around the holiday season. She knows that “it lightens the heart and makes the holiday experience more complete!” This year, Ms. Bailey-Sulak has requested clarinet and saxophone reeds so that her students can fully experience the “joy of the holidays” and perform “Silent Night” during the annual winter performance. The school’s band brings together a group of uniquely talented and gifted students. While most of the children achieve above average test scores, many of them still fail to graduate. Band has become one class that encourages students to regularly attend class and stay in school. In the past two years the band has achieved great success: in the all division band contest they had 38 first place solos and 7 first place duets. For the students of Crespo Elementary school, band is more than just a class, it is a way to “build strong community relationships and keep students in a safe and secure environment.”Find out how you can help Ms. Baily-Sulak continue the band’s success and have a magical holiday performance here.
