Produce for Kids’ Healthy Families, Helping Kids Campaign Supports Healthy Eating Classroom Projects

Share:

Now through October, Produce for Kids is partnering with DonorsChoose.org and select grocery stores across the country to fund health and nutrition-based projects in local schools as part of the Healthy Families, Helping Kids campaign. Last year, the campaign raised more than $169,000 to support 652 classroom projects throughout the country.

During the September to October campaign timeframe, participating fresh fruit and vegetable suppliers will make a donation to DonorsChoose.org to help local schools. The more items from participating companies that shoppers add to their grocery lists, the more local classrooms benefit.Keep an eye out for Produce for Kids in-store signage, featuring popular Sprout® characters, like Chica from The Chica Show, in the produce department of participating grocery stores – ACME Markets, Meijer Stores and Publix Super Markets. If you’re a teacher located in one of these market areas, get your health and wellness projects submitted to DonorsChoose.org today so that you can benefit from the campaign. All funds raised will be used to match public donations to eligible projects.Like Produce for Kids on Facebook for healthy recipes, tips, grocery store gift card giveaways and more.
