The Produce for Kids campaigns encourage families to eat healthy while supporting children’s non-profit organizations, like DonorsChoose.org. The more fresh produce families add to their carts at select grocery stores during the September/October campaign time, the more local classrooms will benefit.Keep an eye out for the display unit featuring popular Sprout® characters, like Sportacus from LazyTown™, in the produce department of participating grocery stores - Meijer Stores, GIANT and Martin’s Food Stores, Giant Food, Stop & Shop and Publix Super Markets. If you’re a teacher located in one of these market areas, get your health and wellness projects submitted to DonorsChoose.org so that you can benefit from the campaign at the conclusion of the fundraising season.Teachers can also benefit by entering the Party with Your Produce Challenge and sharing their healthy classroom party ideas. Winning teachers will get Sprout character classroom visits and DonorsChoose.org gift cards.Like Produce for Kids on Facebook for healthy recipes, tips, grocery store gift card giveaways and more.
