We love Skype! The DonorsChoose.org team uses Skype every day to video chat with remote colleagues, share adorable photos from our teachers’ classrooms and makes our lives easier and more fun. We know our teachers love Skype too. So far, nearly 300 classrooms have used Skype to connect with NASA engineers and sister classrooms in Japan and much more. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with Skype that will help thousands of classrooms connect globally.Through this partnership, Skype will donate $250,000 to projects that will bring Skype video calling to public school classrooms. Here’s how the public can support the program:
- Help a classroom reach beyond their school walls by supporting a Skype Double Your Impact project.
Here’s how teachers can take advantage of the program:
- Starting today, if you’re one of the first 7,500 new teachers to join the Skype in the classroom community, you’ll get a $25 DonorsChoose.org gift code to use toward an existing project or one you create yourself.*
- Get started at education.skype.com.
*Gift codes are limited to one per teacher and can be redeemed on an existing project on DonorsChoose.org until September 15, 2012 or until funds run out. Learn more about eligibility and how to submit a project.
