It all started a year ago when friends and Loews Santa Monica co-workers Erik, Marlon, and Scott were out together and made the “best decision of their lives”. What was that decision exactly? It was simple. It was daring. And, it was for a good cause. After limited training, the three friends embarked on a 150 mile bike ride down the Pacific Coast to raise money for local classrooms, an initiative sparked by Loews Hotels' partnership with DonorsChoose.org. They started at the Loews Santa Monica and ended at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego. Last year they were challenged by raging rain, flat tires, and burning thighs. But it was worth the pain, Erik, Marlon, and Scott raised $1500 and “GLADLY donated it all to DonorsChoose.org”.This year they are doing it all again. Erik, Marlon, and Scott are proud to introduce two more riders to their gang: Jeremy and Henry. The five will travel the same hardened path along down the California coast in hopes of fundraising for projects posted on their Giving Page.Using the knowledge they gained from last year’s adventure, the guys are taking steps to train and prepare for the ride.
