CECP Honors DonorsChoose.org, in Partnership with Crate and Barrel, with the Nonprofit Director’s Award

Today, the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) is presenting its 11th Annual Excellence Awards in Corporate Philanthropy to DonorsChoose.org, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and Bristol-Myers Squibb Company.Crate and Barrel nominated DonorsChoose.org for the Nonprofit Director’s Award, to recognize their highly effective corporate partnership. Since 2006, Crate and Barrel has sent 1.1 million co-branded DonorsChoose.org gift cards to its customers, who have supported 347,000 students. The campaign has deepened Crate and Barrel customer loyalty and inspired civic engagement at DonorsChoose.org.Barbara Turf, CEO of Crate and Barrel, who is a former elementary school teacher, said “We’re proud to continue our partnership with DonorsChoose.org and to share the experience of giving with our customers. We believe in the power of education and providing children everywhere with the opportunity to learn and grow.”Charles Best, Founder and CEO of DonorsChoose.org, will serve on a panel this afternoon at the Time Warner Center, alongside Lloyd C. Blankfein, Chairman and CEO, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and James M. Cornelius, Chairman, Bristol-Myers Squbb Company.
